1. Warranty Overview

Furniture Box generally offers a 10-year warranty on manufacturing defects and manufacturer production faults affecting products supplied through its wholesale and trade channels. This warranty is provided to the original purchaser and applies under normal commercial use conditions.

Warranty coverage is provided in addition to any rights you may have under applicable Australian consumer law.

2. What is Covered

Under normal commercial use, Furniture Box will assess warranty claims relating to:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Faults attributable to the production process
  • Structural failures that arise from defects in original components

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, Furniture Box may, at its discretion:

  • Repair the affected product or component
  • Replace the product or component with a comparable item
  • Provide replacement parts
  • Offer a credit or other resolution as appropriate to the circumstances

3. What is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse or incorrect use: Products used in a manner not intended or not consistent with manufacturer guidelines
  • Incorrect assembly or installation: Products that have been improperly assembled, installed or modified
  • Overloading: Products subjected to loads or weight beyond their rated capacity
  • Normal wear and tear: Gradual deterioration of surfaces, finishes or components that occurs through ordinary use
  • Deliberate damage: Damage caused intentionally or through negligence
  • Transit damage: Damage sustained during delivery or transportation (refer to Section 5)
  • Modification or alteration: Products that have been modified, altered or repaired by parties other than Furniture Box or its authorised representatives
  • Environmental factors: Damage caused by exposure to extreme moisture, temperature, sunlight or other environmental conditions not suitable for the product
  • Consumable components: Items such as batteries, light bulbs and other consumables that naturally degrade over time

4. Normal Commercial Use

Warranty coverage applies to products used in a commercial or trade environment under normal office furniture use conditions. Normal commercial use does not include:

  • Use in high-wear commercial environments beyond the product’s intended rating
  • Use in harsh or industrial conditions for which the product was not designed
  • Continuous heavy-duty use that exceeds the product’s specifications

If you are unsure whether your intended use falls within normal commercial use parameters, please contact Furniture Box prior to purchase.

5. Transit and Delivery Damage

Damage sustained during transit or delivery is not covered under this warranty and should be reported through the damaged or incorrect goods notification process. Please refer to our Returns and Refunds policy for details on how to report transit damage.

Transit damage must be reported within 3 business days of receipt and accompanied by photographs and your order or invoice reference. Failure to report transit damage within this timeframe may affect the ability to process a claim.

6. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim:

  1. Gather documentation: Locate your original order confirmation, invoice or purchase documentation
  2. Photograph the issue: Take clear photographs showing the defect or fault from multiple angles
  3. Describe the issue: Provide a written description of how the fault occurred and when it was first noticed
  4. Submit to Furniture Box: Contact Furniture Box via email at [email protected] with your invoice or order reference, photographs and description

Furniture Box will assess each claim and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Assessment may include requesting additional information or arranging inspection of the product.

7. Assessment and Resolution

Furniture Box will assess warranty claims based on the information provided. At its discretion, Furniture Box may:

  • Request the product or component be made available for physical inspection
  • Arrange for a repairer to assess the item on-site
  • Request additional photographs or documentation

Where a warranty claim is accepted, Furniture Box will determine the appropriate resolution, which may include repair, replacement, parts or credit. The method of resolution is at Furniture Box’s discretion.

Warranty resolution does not extend the original warranty period. Any repaired or replaced components are subject to the remaining balance of the original warranty.

8. Product-Specific Warranty Conditions

Some products or product categories may have specific warranty conditions that differ from or supplement these general terms. Product-specific warranty information will be provided with relevant products or available upon request. Where product-specific conditions conflict with this general warranty statement, the product-specific conditions prevail to the extent of any inconsistency.

9. Liability

Furniture Box’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair, replacement or credit of the affected product or component at Furniture Box’s discretion. Furniture Box will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental losses arising from a warranty claim.

Nothing in this warranty statement excludes or limits any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable Australian consumer law.
